Indie Roundup Dark Asylum Kickstarter

I’ve been getting a little into the whole Kickstarter thing recently, as I strongly believe it’s a brilliant way for Indie developers to pitch ideas and get a good idea of how much demand there is for the games plan on creating. Needless to say we’re also getting quite a few e-mails these days from Indie developers pushing their own Kickstarter project. A lot of those are not great – but some of them catch our attention. A few noteworthy ones of late were M.O.R.E., Star Citizen, Limit Theory and Elite: Dangerous. Hell, we even funded three of those. (Hint: It’s not Star Citizen as the game direction is still incredibly unclear to us, it sounds like an MMO which pretends to not be an MMO)

Anyway, along came Dark Asylum – a point & click horror adventure game which, despite not being this author’s genre, looks pretty damned interesting. Any game like this required a lot of thought in the art and sound departments and it sounds like Jon Draper has those covered. Given the low price point that he’s pitching this at, if you’re remotely interested in this type of game we suggest you have a look and pledge at least a fiver.

  1. Many thanks for the review Evil Tactician.

Very much appreciated. Our Dark Asylum kickstarter campaign is up to £2401 with around 28 days to go… fingers severely crossed that we make it…

    Thanks again.

    Jon from Stormy Studio

  2. An interesting and nervous month ahead for you, Jon.

Best of luck with the campaign. From the artwork shown so far, you’ve put a lot of effort into this – so I sincerely hope the project gets funded.
